Nokia’s next scheduled “superphone” is the N8, and it will be the first to use Symbian and remove Meego place. Meego is the product of the combination of Intel and Moblin Nokia Maemo, and what we have seen, the results are quite impressive. We believe he will be an excellent phone OS, and at least it should rekindle the excitement in the online Nokia smartphone in North America. Ben Wood, director of research at British consultancy CCS Insight, had this to say about the decision:

“The confirmation that Meego be used for the device the next Nseries flagship shows Nokia is betting the ranch on that platform to beat his rivals high-end like the iPhone of Apple.”
We could not agree more, and we are excited to see what Meego brings to the table, especially since we will never see another phone WebOS with the HP takeover. If we lose a good, we need to get better.
What happened Nokia? Just a few years, this company was a great show, although at the top of each mobile phone manufacturer in the world. Their market share in a global perspective was advanced by 50%, and they seemed unstoppable. But now investors jump ship and their market share has plunged, and they have yet to create a compelling alternative to Apple’s iPhone (not to mention any other smartphone in recent memory).
Even Motorola has managed to reverse their fortunes with the Droid, but for some reason, Nokia has been stuck in a rut. But this could all be ending soon enough. A new report from Reuters, the company will use their Meego popular N series handsets in the future, platform landing aging Symbian entirely on a series of phone that has the best chances to really compete with the best smartphones today.
