MSI 890FX-GD70 Multifunction Motherboard

MSI passive cooling, heat pipe flat “looks very impressive – there’s more metal on this motherboard as any we have seen, although the 890FX (GX and the lower end, anyway) do seem need a little cooling. Does MSI uses a selection of military-grade components “for the endurance and stability, but do not expect a level of robustness with the UFC Sabertooth Asus 55i.

MSI 890FX-GD70

Although not too bad, the bundle included 890FX-GD70 is a bit below normal, for a premium product. Essentially, it has not changed much since last year GD65, a CrossFire bridge, two four-pin Molex to SATA power adapters, four straight SATA cables and cable EIDE, with some maps to reach hand-spindle head and a two-port USB 2.0 support thrown in for good measure. Another similarity with the unfortunate Deluxe3 ASRock 890FX is that the data cables do not correspond in any way the council. These are red, which runs almost as badly as those orange ASRock has largely comparable with the staining that board.

We have already taken a look at AMD’s new, high-end 890FX chipset with Deluxe3 ASRock 890FX, which offered an exclusive four-port USB 3.0. Let’s see what makes her MSI with its newest and largest GD70-game series based on the AM3 motherboard, the 890FX-GD70 (not to be confused with cheaper MSI 790FX-GD70).

So what is special about the GD70? In material terms, SATA 6Gb / s is supported natively by the chipset AMD SB850 latest, two USB 3.0 ports are courtesy of the usual controller NEC, and physical power, and reset buttons are nothing CLEARCMOS out of the ordinary to the top. Just under five common characteristics are powered eSATA / USB port multifunction dial overclocking and physical energy green button, and not less than PCI Express x16. It also sports two Gigabit Ethernet ports, which are becoming quite rare nowadays.

We found the previous MSI motherboard we reviewed, the GD65, being one of the most visually appealing boards around, and we are pleased that the company did not break this design philosophy with the GD70 . He still sports the same great combination of black PCB, black and blue slots and cooling radiator money, now with added metallic blue highlighting. Only the white SATA 6Gb / ports spoil the effect a tad – surely they could have black?
