Asetek Adds Might All-In-One PC
To date, there is no pre-fabricated all-in-one PCs that use liquid cooling and high-end components. It is certainly a niche, and we suspect that has kept companies from entering this market full on. But Asetek saw an opportunity here, and now that we really think we kind of do as well. All-in-one PCs are retained; now, they are really good for basic office / clerical duties and the occasional movie. But can they do more?
If you ask Asetek, the answer is yes. Their latest prototype has the same profile as the Apple iMac announced, being only 58mm thick. It can handle a 2.66GHz Intel Core i7-920 and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280 GPU million, representing a total TDP of 200 watts. It’s much more power than you find in any port IOA today, but rather than rely on a thick case and lots of fans, Asetek has integrated liquid cooling solution to keep things chilled . We can not be certain that this concept will never make it to production, but we like the idea and certainly hope so. Asetek solution and coolant go hand in hand, the company has been in the business of keeping platforms cool game for years now and they are one of the most respected names in the industry. So what is the fuss here? Well, Asetek has really gone beyond this: a new all-in-a prototype machine liquid cooling is far more powerful than any other AIO we’ve seen in the past.
